Fractional CFO

My aim is to be a true financial partner, not just an outside advisor. I take the time to really understand how your business operates, where the pressure points are, and what decisions matter to you. From there, we build a financial structure that supports growth, clarity, and smart decision-making.

For ongoing support, we meet to review financial statements, cash flow, and key trends so you can clearly understand what’s happening in your business and how it impacts decisions. These conversations focus on insight, not just reporting. When appropriate, I coordinate directly with your CPA on tax and financial matters to ensure alignment and reduce friction.

The objective is simple: provide clear, reliable financial information, stronger control over your numbers, and a financial structure that can scale as your business grows—without the cost or commitment of a full-time senior financial executive.

Forensic Accounting

Forensic accounting focuses on identifying, correcting, and resolving problems in your financial records. This work typically begins when something doesn’t look right—accounts don’t tie, balances don’t make sense, or prior records can’t be relied on. I dig into the details to understand what went wrong and how the issues developed, not just to patch them, but to fix them properly.

This work can include rebuilding accounts, correcting historical errors, reviewing unusual or unsupported transactions, and investigating potential misuse or theft. I trace activity back to its source, reconcile discrepancies, and re-establish accurate balances so the financial records reflect what actually happened. The goal is clean, defensible books that you can trust.

Once corrections are complete, I ensure the books are properly documented and ready for tax preparation. I work to resolve issues before they reach your tax accountant, reducing risk, delays, and unpleasant surprises. When needed, I also help put controls and processes in place to prevent similar problems going forward.

Financial Infrastructure & Systems

Financial infrastructure and systems focus on building the foundation that produces reliable, usable financial information. As businesses grow, systems that once worked often break down or stop reflecting how the business actually operates. I design and maintain financial structures that support clarity, consistency, and informed decision-making as complexity increases.

This work includes designing and standardizing the chart of accounts, creating financial reporting structures that align with how you manage the business, and setting up reporting packages that are timely and meaningful. I also assist with accounting systems setup, cleanup, and integration with other systems so information flows correctly and manual work is reduced, including QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, and Wave.

In addition, I review internal controls and financial processes to recommend improvements that protect the business without adding unnecessary friction. I provide guidance, training, and oversight for bookkeepers to ensure day-to-day work supports accurate reporting and reliable financials over time.
